Free rewrite rounds apply to still-flagged prose
Charles Li · HumanPen · still-flagged-gets-free-rounds
Free rounds are easy to misunderstand as “keep washing until something looks clean.” The literacy move here is free rewrite rounds apply to still-flagged prose on a fresh report after each pass.
Distinct from free-rounds-until-under-20 (loop framing), short-doc-all-or-nothing (short-paper behavior), and reimport-report-after-pass (when to refresh the map). Here the point is what the free rounds cover.
Better order
- Import the full AI writing report; confirm attempt identity; read the legend once.
- Rewrite the highest-flagged continuous-prose spans; freeze citations, numbers, formulas, and layout.
- Re-import a fresh report; note which spans are still flagged.
- Use free rounds (if any) only on those still-flagged spans—not on unflagged neighbors.
- Stop when the report’s own framing says you are done, or when policy requires another path.
Why “still flagged” is the unit
Free rounds exist to polish remaining flagged continuous prose, not to re-wash the whole file. Treating them as unlimited whole-document credit invites style loss and evidence mismatch.
What this is not
- Not a guarantee the next AI percentage will drop or clear.
- Not a promise of unlimited free rounds on every plan or paper length.
- Not a substitute for your course integrity process if one is opened.
