Re-import the AI writing report after each rewrite pass

Charles Li · HumanPen · reimport-report-after-pass

A rewrite pass changes the draft. The literacy move here is re-import the AI writing report after each pass so the next free round (if any) targets still-flagged continuous prose on the current attempt—not yesterday’s highlights.

Distinct from recheck-after-detector-update (vendor model change), still-flagged-gets-free-rounds (what free rounds cover), and match-report-span-to-rewrite (align rewrite to the painted span). Here the point is fresh report → fresh map after you edited.

Better order

  1. Import the full AI writing report; confirm attempt identity; read the legend once.
  2. Rewrite only the highest-flagged continuous-prose spans; freeze citations, numbers, formulas, and layout.
  3. Export the revised draft, then re-import a fresh report for that same attempt before the next round.
  4. Let free rounds (if offered) apply only to spans that are still flagged on the new report.
  5. Stop when the report’s own framing says you are done—or when school policy requires a different path.

Why re-import matters

Old highlights can point at text you already changed. Working from a stale map wastes free rounds and can look like a whole-document wash. Re-import is logistics for evidence—not a promise the next AI percentage will drop.
